Sustainability Team
The sustainability team currently includes Marie Oest, Dr. Hauke Heller, Dr. Christian Wittenburg, Dr. Thomas Behrens, and Dr. Jennifer Menzel. Since 2026, Prof. Dr. Markus Fischer has been part of the team as the department’s Sustainability Officer.
The team is also supported by the University's Sustainability Office: Prof. Dr. Laura Marie Edinger-Schons, Dr. Stefanie Reustlen and Uwe Lübbermann.

- Recording of nutritionally relevant metabolic parameters (Metabolic Profiling, Metabolic Targeting)
- Aptamer development
- Characterisation of bacterial metabolic pathways (vitamin B2, mevalonate-independent terpene biosynthesis)
- Authentication of artefacts within the framework of the Cluster of Excellence „Understanding Written Artefacts“
