Technology transfer
At the HSFS, research is conducted in collaboration with various regulatory authorities (e.g. US FDA, Washington DC or Institute for Hygiene and Environment, Hamburg), universities (e.g. University of Tübingen) and partners from the food industry (e.g. Eurofins, SGS) on various issues to ensure that a direct transfer of knowledge takes place, which also benefits small and medium-sized enterprises in the German economy.
These projects are predominantly funded by public third-party funders. These include the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) via the German Federation of Industrial Research Associations (AiF) in cooperation with the Research Association of the Food Industry (FEI) and the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) via the Federal Agency for Agriculture and Food (BLE). In addition, project funding is also provided by the German Research Foundation (DFG), via Individual Research Grants or within the framework of the cluster of excellence Understanding Written Artefacts.
