As part of the 1st Sustainability Afternoon at the Department of Chemistry, the sustainability team organised an innovation competition for suggestions on sustainability in which all members of the department could take part. Eight proposals were received, from which the jury (consisting of the sustainability team of the department as well as Dr. Stefanie Reustlen and Uwe Lübbermann from the Sustainability Office) awarded prizes for the best ideas. The sustainability team is already working on implementing the first projects presented.
The entries were:
- A comprehensive catalogue of actions that can be implemented at a low threshold in the working groups (RG Beck, 1. prize)
- The roof greening of our roofs for natural insulation, rainwater recycling and regeneration of lost green spaces (Nils Wax, 2. prize)
- Switching from paper to e-exams to reduce workload and save paper (Dr. Patrick Ziegelmüller, 3. prize)

Anyone who is also interested in the sustainability topic and would like to make suggestions or play an active role in shaping it is very welcome to join the group.
