Publication of the thesis:
After approval, the Habilitand:in produces the required number of print copies of the Habilitation according to the form of publication. Electronic publication of the thesis is recommended. Further information can be found on the website of the State and University Library (SUB).

Privatdozentinnen and Privatdozenten (Private Lecturers):
The Department of Chemistry of the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Natural Sciences may, upon application, award habilitated scientists the authorization to teach as Privatdozentin or Privatdozent. The requirements and the procedure are regulated in the Statutes of the University of Hamburg on the awarding of the authorization to teach as a Privatdozentin or Privatdozent according to § 17 paragraph 2 of the Hamburg University Law (Privatdozentursatzung, pdf). The award is made for a specific subject area. The Privatdozent is obligated to carry out free titular teaching within his or her subject area to the extent of two lecture hours per academic year; this obligation expires upon retirement.
