1978	Habilitation in Aachen for textile chemistry and macromolecular chemistry
1981-1983	Professorship for textile chemistry, especially textile printing, at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences in Krefeld in the Department of Chemistry
1983-1993	Professorship for Technical Sciences, in particular Textiles and Clothing at the University of Hamburg at the Institute for Industrial-Technical Sciences
