Collaborations
OxFA GmbH
OxFA GmbH is a joint venture founded in March 2015 by JBACH GmbH and EnviTec Biogas AG. OxFA is the only company in the world that produces formic acid sustainably and selectively from biomass. In the innovative OxFA process, renewable raw materials and biogenic residues can be converted into valuable, green chemicals.
Our company founders are confident in the enormous potential of bio-based formic acid as a platform chemical and the associated downstream applications. Our team of technical experts has many years of experience in chemical reaction engineering, production and company development.
LigPOMMem GmbH
LigPOMMem GmbH was founded in September 2023 as a spin-off of the University of Hamburg and focuses on the commercial development of sustainable, bio-based processes, in particular the value creation of industrial lignin streams from the paper industry. It is primarily interested in the complete value creation of lignin and its conversion into platform chemicals.
The collaboration between LigPOMMem GmbH and the Albert working group at UHH aims to develop sustainable processes for converting lignin into valuable chemicals. This collaboration aims to replace fossil-based chemicals with chemical precursors based on renewable raw materials and thus contribute to the promotion of a sustainable and environmentally friendly industry.
