Research

Our research group deals with a number of material science questions with special emphasis on the characteristic porosity. The focus lies on organic-inorganic hybrid and functional materials. Many topics have a direct relation to the 'energy problem', i.e. the fact that the current (mainly fossil) energy sources are finite and their availability will foreseeably decrease or the price will increase accordingly. Furthermore, in view of global warming, the replacement of fossil fuels is a necessity in order to minimize the emission of greenhouse gases, especially CO₂.
