The annual congress of the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID Global) was hosted in Munich from April 17th - 21st.
We are always looking forward to this conference and the great opportunity for our team to showcase our work in infectious diseases, PK/PD modelling, and rational antibiotic therapy.
Sebastian Wicha chaired the sessions "Next-generation therapies against infectious diseases" and "Innovative methodologies for advancing PK/PD studies". Furthermore, he contributed an oral presentation on clinical breakpoints for antibiotic combinations.
David Schrey presented a poster titled "PK/PD validation of a haemodialyser as cost-effective alternative to commercial cartridges in the hollow fibre infection model".
Miklas Martens presented his work on "In vitro pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic model assessing the effect of fosfomycin on clinical multi-resistant Enterobacterales isolates" on a poster.
Julian Ermtraud spoke about "PK/PD-based optimisation of temocillin dosing for complicated UTIs in non-ICU patients according to renal function" in an ePoster Flash Session.
Beyond the science, the conference offered discussions, meaningful networking, and an atmosphere that truly supports progress in the field of infectious diseases.
Huge thanks to the ESCMID for an excellent program!
