Pharmacists Day at the EBMT Meeting

Last week, Eva-Maria Wansing and Sandra Witta had the opportunity to present their research during Pharmacists Day at the 52nd Annual EBMT meeting in Madrid, Spain!

Eva presented on the “Dosing of anti-infectives in renally impaired HCT patients,” highlighting challenges with selecting the right biomarker for eGFR determination. By comparing several eGFR equations with renal vancomycin clearance, she provided key insights and considerations when dosing with anti-infectives in such special populations.

Sandra presented on “Enabling model informed precision dosing of busulfan in HSCT patients: an external model evaluation,” assessing the predictive performance of 40 busulfan population pharmacokinetic models in patients undergoing allogeneic HSCT at the Universitätsklinikum Hamburg Eppendorf. We are also very grateful to the EBMT Pharmacology Committee for selecting the project for the 1st Pharmacists Abstract Award.
