New publication on stability of tigecycline in bacterial growth medium
14. August 2020, von Kroemer
Tigecycline is a reserve antibiotic to treat infections with highly-resistant organisms and knowledge about drug susceptibility is key to dosing decisions. A prerequisite for susceptibility testing is knowledge about drug stability/degradation under the testing conditions. Lisa not only found, that tigecycline stability is highly dependent on the age of the utilized bacterial growth medium, but also found pyruvate to stabilize tigecycline.
