Cancer is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. Although big steps in treatment have been taken over the years, still patient relapse with chemoresistant disease following initial therapy. In recent years a new form of therapy has been showing promising results, cancer immunotherapy, which uses the adaptive immune system of the patient to attack the tumor. In my project, I aim to develop an mRNA-based therapy that can prime the adaptive immune system against cancerous cells, considering challenges such as the infiltration of the tumor microenvironment.
