We are happy to share the newest publications from our research group that were published within the past weeks:
Christoph Pfaffendorf investigated antibiotic effectiveness of fosmidomycin and clindamycin for bacterial bloodstream infections, which is not easily differentiated from malaria in his paper "In vitro activity of the antimalarial, antibiotic drugs fosmidomycin and clindamycin against clinical isolates of bacterial bloodstream infections in febrile, hospitalized Ghanaian children".
Christoph and Sebastian also contributed to another publication on malaria therapy: a phase II study, called MultiMal, that investigates new drug combinations: Artesunate–pyronaridine–atovaquone–proguanil and artesunate–fosmidomycin–clindamycin compared with standard artesunate–pyronaridine for the treatment of uncomplicated malaria (MultiMal): a randomised, controlled, clinical, phase 2 trial in Gabon and Ghana
Emily Behrens' research on tuberculosis resulted in the paper "Towards model-informed precision dosing of clofazimine, moxifloxacin, and terizidone/cycloserine in the treatment of drug-resistant tuberculosis: An external model evaluation study". Previously published pharmacokinetic models were evaluated on an externally collected dataset. The predictive performance of each model was compared across multiple dosing occasions, and the influence of inter-occasion-variability was explored.
Congratulations and thanks to everyone who contributed!
