ISAP-Meeting and ESCMID Global 2024

Our group showcased a strong presence at this year's ESCMID Global Conference, held from April 27 to 30 in Barcelona, Spain. The annual event, which followed the ISAP-Meeting on April 26, was a stage for the exchange of research and discussions in the field of clinical microbiology and infectious diseases.

Sebastian notably contributed to both events by delivering presentations and moderating sessions that facilitated insightful dialogues among international experts. His presentations included "Population pharmacokinetics of fosmidomycin in a novel combination antimalarial therapy. Does the applied dosing regimen result in equal exposure for children, adolescents, and adults?", which he presented on behalf of Christoph. He hosted the session "PK/PD Modelling: From Bench to Bedside" and the integrated symposium "Precision Antibiotic Combination Therapy to Improve Patient Care."

Miklas presented a poster titled "Two-dimensional checkerboard screening of ceftazidime-avibactam and fosfomycin against carbapenemase-producing E. coli, K. oxytoca, E. cloacae and K. pneumoniae clinical isolates" on his latest research findings at the ESCMID Global, attracting attention from peers and fostering opportunities for knowledge exchange.

Moreover, the spotlight was on Aneeq who received the Young Investigator Award for his  presentation on "A pharmacometric model assessing the synergistic effect of bacteriophage-polymyxin combination therapy in a clinical multidrug-resistant K. pneumoniae isolate in vitro" at the ISAP-Meeting. Congratulations!
