Scientific exchange program – Australia

In the beginning of October, Sebastian Wicha and Aneeq Farooq visited the research group of Prof. Jian Li at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. Sebastian provided insights into the application of pharmacometrics in preclinical and clinical research. Apart from intense meetings to start new collaborations with the team of Jian, Sebastian also travelled to Sydney to meet our collaborators (Dr. Sophie Stocker, Prof. Jan-Willem Alffenaar and the dean of their School of Pharmacy Prof. Andrew McLachlan). Aneeq had the opportunity to stay in Melbourne even for two weeks and gained some understanding on metabolomics and bacteriophage therapy by our great hosts from Jian Li’s team.

Their stay was funded by a bilateral Australian-German scientific exchange program by the DAAD (German academic exchange service).
