New publication on the pharmacokinetics of ciprofloxacin in ECMO patients

Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is an important tool in intensive care medicine and has gained more attention recently due to its increased use during the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet, the potential impact of ECMO on the pharmacokinetics of antibiotics is poorly understood. In this paper, we investigated the pharmacokinetics of ciprofloxacin in ECMO patients, led by Dzenefa Alihodzic together with our colleagues from the University Medical Centre, Hamburg.
