Coupled nanosystems and plasmonics

The group's research foci are nanoscale semiconductors and metals and their model excitations, excitons and plasmons. The nanosystems can be arranged into supercrystals and other combinations and the resulting collective properties are investigated with ultrashort pump-probe experiments. Based on strong light-matter coupling within the systems, we aim at developing materials that allow shaping and transforming light in desired ways.
