Further Information
- The brothers Hans and Ernst Brackebusch completed their doctoral theses at the Hamburg State Chemical Laboratory, the forerunner of the Department of Chemistry, under the supervision of Ferdinand Wibel. Since Hamburg did not yet have the right to award doctorates, the thesis was submitted to the University of Göttingen. So these are quasi the first (now again known) doctoral theses in Hamburg.
- In his first marriage Hans Brackebusch was married to Johanna Katharina Elisabeth Sonder, the daughter of Otto Wilhelm Sonder.
