Wilhelm Witter is co-inventor of the Pape-Witter-Babe process for zinc extraction.
Wilhelm Witter is co-inventor of the Pape-Witter-Babe process for zinc extraction. After working at the State Metallurgical Laboratory, he worked for various companies. He acquired patents for Hüttenwerke Trotha and above all for M. Lissauer & Cie (Cologne).. Places of residence mentioned in patents were Braunschweig (1925) and especially Halle (from 1927).
In Halle he was a smelter director and became known as a geologist and paleontologist. It worked from 1932 at the Mineralogical Institute or the later Institute of Folklore at the University of Halle.
