We, the Theoretical Chemistry groups at the Institute of Inorganic and Applied Chemistry at the University of Hamburg, conduct research at the intersection of chemistry, physics, biology, and computer science.
As part of a dedicated and interdisciplinary team, we develop new methods to better understand complex electronic processes in molecular and extended systems. Our research ranges from charge transport through molecules to the electronic properties of quantum materials.
We apply methods from quantum mechanical electronic structure theory, molecular dynamics simulations, and machine learning techniques.
