Studies
The Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Molecular Life Sciences are interdisciplinary programs that bring together fundamental knowledge from the disciplines of biology, medicine, chemistry, and physics.
As the name suggests, these programs examine life sciences on the molecular level. They include teaching about cells, metabolism, viral and bacterial diseases, signal transduction, and oncology.
Since 50% of the program consists of practical work, you will be familiarized with countless techniques from biochemistry and molecular biology, such as DNA cloning, protein analyses, and the determination of molecular structures.
Fundamental knowledge of inorganic and organic chemistry, animal and plant physiology, structural biochemistry, and bioinformatics is also taught. You can explore these areas in greater depth in elective modules, according to your personal interests.
Semester 5 of the BSc involves a 6-week internship offering insights into the work in biochemistry professions. For examples of internships completed in the past, see the posters from previous years.
