Translation, as the most central process in cell, is crucial for cellular homeostasis and disease. As part of my research, I develop various bioinformatics tools and algorithms to analyze high-throughput sequencing data. This includes Ribo-seq data (ribosome profiling) to study translation dynamics, Nanopore sequencing to assess tRNA abundance and modifications at single-nucleotide resolution. An essential part of my project is the development of novel data analysis pipelines tailored to the unique challenges of tRNA sequencing, helping to uncover how changes in tRNA expression and modifications patterns contribute to pathologies.
