Lisa Prisner is working on the synthesis, functionalization
and biological application of biocompatible nanoparticles. Especially
functionalized gold particles are promising candidates for a variety of medical
applications, e.g. drug delivery purposes, imaging applications or
hyperthermia. Lisa is using various analytical, biochemical and microscopic
methods to investigate the interaction of biofunctionalized gold nanoparticles
with cells in terms of the toxicity, binding and cellular uptake.
