In team ”Quantum materials“ of Fraunhofer- CAN I am working on the synthesis of semiconducting quantum dots. These materials can be used for display applications. Here shown is a display pixel using a layer of fluorescent nanoparticles as white light emitter.
Quantum dots have to show properties like high stability, high absorption, high quantum yield and a small width in emission spectra to fit these applications.
The task is to combine theoretical knowledge about growth mechanics with resulting properties and push the development of quantum materials to the next level.
