Travel by Railway
The closest railway station is Hamburg-Dammtor. From there it is
a 15 min walk to the institute (cf. map). From the station (main entry)
it is possible to take the bus no. 5 (direction: Niendorf-Markt) and
to exit at the second stop (Grindelallee). From there it is 5 min walk
to Bundesstraße 45. The bus goes every 7 min.
Travel by Airplane
If you travel by airplane, you will probably arrive in Terminal 4 of the
airport Hamburg-Fuhlsbüttel. Public transport is via bus no.
26 to the subway station Alsterdorf. From there via
"Kellinghusenstraße" (change on the same platform) to the subway
station "Schlump". Now it's 5 min walk to the institute. An
online time-table is available from the local public transport company,
HVV.
Of course, there are taxis as well.
Travel by Car
You have your own map and the
sitemap (enter: Hamburg, Bundestraße, 45).
So you should be able to find the institute. Parking space is
limited in the neighbourhood. You should be able to stop right in front
of the building, rush in, and ask our door man for the visitor's key ("Parkplatzschlüssel
für Besucher") to our own parking site. After parking your car you
should return the key immediately. The mechanism of the bar is a bit tricky:
Turn the key, pull out the big bolt by the spherical handle, lift the
bar, push in the bolt to secure the bar in upright position and drive in.
Lock the bar by proceeding in reverse order.
