2 Diffusion in alkali and alkaline earth halides

Abstract

In this chapter, self-diffusion as well as heterodiffusion data are tabulated for the crystalline halides of alkali metals and alkaline earths. The chapter provides a summary of the specific methods which give access to the diffusion parameters in the ionic crystals including alkali halides, alkaline earth halides, and thallium chloride. Central to the chapter are the tables. From the tables, references are made to the figures of relevant Arrhenius diagrams: semilogarithmic plots of the diffusion coefficient as a function of the reciprocal absolute temperature. They concern the selected data so plotted in the figures.
