9.4.6 Chromium group metals

Abstract

This chapter presents information concerning the diffusion of hydrogen and its isotopes like deuterium (D) and tritium (T), in chromium group metals, particularly for Mo and W. Some results of measurements in the presence of varying levels of hydrogen concentration are included. Many of the methods described in this chapter have been applied to the study of hydrogen diffusion. Preexponential factor (D0) and activation enthalpy (Q) values, and temperature ranges are tabulated for solvent elements like Mo and W.
