9.4.4 Titanium group metals

Abstract

This chapter presents the data on diffusion of titanium group metals like titanium (Ti), zirconium (Zr) and hafnium (Hf). The values of pre-exponential factor (D0), activation enthalpy (Q), hydrogen concentration, temperature range and diffusants (hydrogen, deuterium and tritium) are listed in the table. The determination methods including sectioning, vacuum extraction, absorption method, gas volumetric permeation method, desorption method, and vacuum extraction are shown. In addition, the remarks column given in the table will help to estimate the reliability of the diffusion results.
