Diffusion in Solid Metals and Alloys · Figs. 21 - 36

Abstract

This chapter discusses the diffusion in ternary alloys. Ternary interdiffusion coefficients and iso-interdiffusion coefficient lines of Cu–Ni–Zn alloy are illustrated. Experimental and calculated concentration profiles for a vapor-solid couple diffused at 1023 K in Cu–Sn–Zn alloy are given. Illustrations also include isodiffusion coefficient contours for ternary interdiffusion coefficients of Cu–Sn–Zn, Fe–Ni–P and Ti–V–Zr alloys, and concentration profiles of Zn and Cd for the vapor-solid couple with Ag disk exposed to an Ag–Cd–Zn alloy. Variation of intrinsic diffusion coefficients of α-Ag–Zn–Cd and Co–Cr–Ni alloys and diffusion coefficients of Cr–Fe–Ni alloy are plotted. Atomic mobilities of Zn and Cd at 873 K as functions of Cd concentration in α-Ag–Zn–Cd are given. Isomobility lines for Zn and Mn of C–Mn–Zn alloy, and isotracer diffusion coefficient contours of Cu–Ni–Zn alloy are also illustrated.
