3.2.2 Alkaline earth metals

Abstract

This chapter compiles the data for impurity diffusion in alkaline earth metals, namely, beryllium (Be), magnesium (Mg) and calcium (Ca). Impurity diffusion data of the alkaline earth metals are tabulated in terms of solute, pre-exponential factor (D0), activation enthalpy (Q), temperature range, and experimental methods such as diffusion couple method, serial sectioning, surface decrease method, lathe and grinder sectioning.
