2.2.8 Iron group metals

Abstract

This chapter illustrates self-diffusion tables of manganese group metals such as manganese (Mn), technetium (Tc) and rhenium (Re), and iron group metals such as iron (Fe), ruthenium (Ru) and osmium (Os). Self-diffusion data of Mn, Re, and Fe are tabulated in terms of pre-exponential factor (D0), activation enthalpy (Q), temperature range and experimental methods. The experimental methods include mechanical sectioning, sputter sectioning, residual activity measurements as well as surface decrease method.
