2.2.3 Scandium group and rare earth metals

Abstract

This chapter compiles the data of self-diffusion in scandium group metals and rare earth metals in a table. The scandium group metals include scandium (Sc), yttrium (Y) and lanthanum (La). The rare earth metals include cerium (Ce), praseodymium (Pr), europium (Eu), gadolinium (Gd), erbium (Er) and ytterbium (Yb). Pre-exponential factor D0 and activation enthalpy Q data are listed for these metals. The temperature range given in the table is the range over which measurements were made and used to calculate the D0 and Q values. This table also contains the information like fcc and bcc structure, mechanical sectioning with measurement of section and residual activity.
