10.2 The isotope effect tables for diffusion in solid metallic elements

Abstract

This chapter compiles the data on isotope effect for diffusion in solid metallic elements. The solid metallic elements include (i) alkali metals like lithium (Li) and sodium (Na), (ii) titanium group metals like titanium (Ti), zirconium (Zr) and hafnium (Hf), (iii) vanadium group metals like vanadium (V) and niobium (Nb), (iv) chromium group metals like chromium (Cr) and tungsten (W)), (v) iron group metals like iron (Fe), (vi) cobalt group metals like cobalt (Co), (vii) nickel group metals like nickel (Ni) and palladium, (viii) noble metals like copper (Cu), silver (Ag) and gold (Au), (ix) zinc group metals like zinc (Zn) and cadmium (Cd), (x) aluminum group metals like aluminum (Al) and (xi) group IVB elements like silicon (Si), germanium (Ge) and lead (Pb). Various diffusors, temperature, isotope effect parameter and remarks for solid metallic elements have been indicated. The table further shows determination methods including half-life separation, lathe sectioning, SIMS-analysis, gas flow counting, X-ray counting, grinder sectioning and microtome sectioning.
