9.4.10 Nickel group metals

Abstract

This chapter presents data on diffusion of hydrogen and its isotopes like deuterium (D) and tritium (T), in nickel group metals, particularly for nickel (Ni), palladium (Pd) and platinum (Pt). Some results of measurements in the presence of varying levels of hydrogen concentration are included. Various methods described in this chapter have been applied to the study of hydrogen diffusion. Arrhenius parameters including preexponential factor (D0) and activation enthalpy (Q) values, hydrogen concentration, diffusant, temperature range and remarks are tabulated for solvent elements (Ni, Pd and Pt).
