Interaction of Radiation with Surfaces and Electron Tunneling · 9.1.2 Data

Abstract

This chapter provides data of field emission, field ionization, and field desorption of metals. Field emission work functions for various metal surfaces, and activation energies for surface self-diffusion (mass transport) of various metals from field emission measurements are tabulated. Then the chapter tabulates surface diffusion parameters for adsorbates on metal substrates from field emission measurements, and epitaxial relationships determined by field emission microscopy. Tables containing data of best image fields for various imaging gases, surface diffusion parameters determined by field ion microscopy, and experimental evaporation fields for various ions are presented. Relative abundance of cluster ions in laser stimulated field evaporation, and atom-probe composition depth profiles in alloy segregation are listed in the table.
