Abstract

This chapter illustrates photoemission and inverse photoemission experiments of group IB (noble metals); Cu, Ag, Au particularly Cu. Binding energies of occupied and unoccupied surface states on copper surfaces are tabulated. Angle-resolved photoemission spectra for Cu (100), Cu (110) and Cu (111), and inverse photoemission spectrum of Cu (100) are figured out. Experimental dispersion of the surface states of Cu (100), Cu (110) and Cu (111) is illustrated. Photoemission spectra of clean and oxygen-covered surface are recorded as well. Similarly, the inverse photoemission spectra of clean and Cl-, CO-, oxygen covered surfaces is illustrated.
