Abstract

This chapter provides information on photoemission spectrum of group VIII elements such as iron (Fe), ruthenium (Ru), osmium (Os), cobalt (Co), and rhodium (Rh). Binding energies of occupied surface states and unoccupied surface states on iron surfaces and ruthenium are tabulated. This chapter illustrates i) spin-averaged and spin-resolved normal emission photoemission spectrum, spin- and angle-resolved photoemission spectrum, and normal incidence inverse photoemission spectrum of iron, ii) majority and minority density of states, and projection of the bulk minority spin bands of iron, iii) normal emission photoemission spectrum, angle-resolved photoemission spectrum, normal incidence inverse photoemission spectrum of ruthenium, iv) projection of the bulk band structure of ruthenium, v) high resolution photoemission spectra of the osmium, vi) angle-resolved photoelectron spectra of cobalt, angle-resolved photoemission spectrum, high resolution normal incidence inverse photoemission spectrum of cobalt, vii) high resolution angle-resolved photoelectron spectrum and surface band structure of rhodium. Iridium (Ir) has the face-centered cubic structure with a lattice constant of 3.839 Å (at 300K).
