4.2.2.1 Two isotropic media

Abstract

In this chapter data of experimental and calculated dispersion curves for surface plasmon polaritons in silver (Ag), gold (Au) and n-InSb in contact with air, obtained by the Otto ATR method. This chapter also present dispersion curve for surface phonon polaritons on the (111) surface of CaF2, Ga0.7Al0.3As, GaP, InP, InSb, KTaO3, NaCl, NaF, SrTiO3, Y3Fe5O12 and ZnSe in contact with air, obtained by the Otto ATR method. Dispersion curve for surface plasmon polaritons on the surface of Al in contact with air obtained by the grating coupling method is also shown. Dispersion curve for surface phonon polaritons on a NaClO3 surface in contact with sapphire, obtained by Raman scattering under conditions of total reflection is given.
