Abstract

This chapter illustrates the electronic structure of surfaces of group IIB metals, Zn and Cd. Illustrations include band structure for a 23 layers (0001) slab of Zn, theoretical calculated energy band structure of a 23-layer film of Zn with the (0001) surface, summary of energy-band dispersion data for the s, p states in Zn, and self-consistent pseudopotential calculation of the (0001) projected band structure of Cd together with the surface bands.
