1.7.1.2 Ion irradiation

Abstract

This chapter discusses production of atomic defects by ion irradiation. For those metals which show annealing already around helium temperature, the irradiation temperature is indicated in a table. Normalized, interpolated damage rates are listed for these metals irradiated with protons, deuterons and α-particles. Low temperature damage rates under light ion irradiation for metals are also tabulated.
